This post looks at 17 prophecies from the Old Testament that were fulfilled in the New Testament.

Many of these prophecies were out of Jesus control – for example where he was born.

There are many other prophecies in the Bible, but these are just a few examples. I have used the Japanese Living Bible translation.

These prophecies are evidence that the Bible really is the perfect Word of God, and that Jesus really is God.

Born of a virgin 処女から生まれた
Prophecy – “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14).
預言：「見ていなさい。 処女が子供を産みます。 彼女は生まれた子にインマヌエル〔「神様がいっしょにおられる」の意〕という名前をつけます。」（イザヤ書７：１４）
Fulfilment – “After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 1:18).
成就：「イエス・キリストの誕生は次のとおりです。 母マリヤはヨセフと婚約していました。 ところが、結婚する前に、聖霊によってみごもったのです。」（マタイによる福音書１：１８）
Born in Bethlehem ベツレヘムで生まれた
Prophecy – “Out of you, Bethlehem Ephratah, shall come forth the One to be Ruler in Israel” (Micah 5:2).
預言：「ベツレヘム・エフラテよ。 おまえはユダの小さな町にすぎないが、永遠の昔から生きておられる王が生まれる地となる。」（ミカ書５：２）
Fulfilment – “Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea” (Matthew 2:1).
成就：「イエスはヘロデ王の時代に、ユダヤのベツレヘムの町でお生まれになりました。」（マタイによる福音書２：１）
Famed for Wisdom 知恵は有名です
Prophecy - The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding (Isaiah 11:2).
預言：「その上に神様の霊が宿ります。 それは知恵の霊、悟りの霊、助言と力の霊、知識の霊、それに神様を恐れる霊です。」
Fulfilment - Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men (Luke 2:52).
成就：「イエスは身長も伸び、知恵も加わって、神にも人にも愛されました。」（ヨハネによる福音書２：５２）
Lived a sinless life 罪のない生活を送りました
Prophecy: He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth (Isaiah 53:9).
預言：「彼は罪人扱いを受け、金持ちの墓に葬られました。 しかし実際は、悪いことなど何一つしたわけでもなく、悪いことばを一度でも口にしたわけではありません。」（イザヤ書５３：９）
Fulfilment: Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth (1 Peter 2:22).
成就：「キリスト様は一度も、罪を犯したり、うそをついたりなさいませんでした。」（ペテロの第一の手紙２：２２）
Healed the sick and needy 病人と貧しい人を癒した
Prophecy: Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. The lame shall leap like a deer (Isaiah 35:5–6).
預言：「神様が来れば、盲人の目は見えるようになり、耳しいの耳は聞こえるようになります。足なえは鹿のように跳びはね」（イザヤ書３５：５－６）
Fulfilment: The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear (Matthew 11:5).
成就：「盲人は見えるようになり、足の立たなかった者が今は自分で歩けるようになり、らい病人が治り、耳の聞こえなかった人も聞こえ、死人が生き返り、」（マタイによる福音書１１：５）
Preached Good News 素晴らしい知らせを伝えた
Prophecy: The Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor (Isaiah 61:1).
預言：「苦しんでいる人や悩んでいる人にすばらしい知らせを伝えるために、神様は私に油を注ぎました。」
Fulfilment: The poor have the gospel preached to them (Matthew 11:5).
成就：「貧しい人々がわたしのすばらしい知らせを聞いていること」（マタイによる福音書１１：５）
Entered Jerusalem in Triumph 意気揚々とエルサレムに入られた
Prophecy: Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey (Zechariah 9:9).
預言：「歓声をあげよ。 さあ、おまえたちの王が来る。 その王は正しく、いつも勝利を収める。 しかも、謙そんで、ろばの子に乗って来る。」（ゼカリヤ書９：９）
Fulfilment: They brought the colt to Jesus, and He sat on it . . . Then those who followed, cried, saying, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! (Mark 11:7– 9).
成就：「ろばの子をイエスのところに連れて来た弟子たちは、上着を脱ぎ、ろばの背中にかけました。 イエスがその上に乗られると、 8群衆の中の多くの者たちも次々と上着を脱ぎ、イエスの進んで行かれる道に敷いたり、野原から葉のついた枝を切ってきて、敷き並べたりしました。
9-10イエスを行列の真ん中にし、ぐるりと取り囲んだ群衆が、口々にこう叫びました。「王様、ばんざーいっ！」「主の御名によって来られる方に祝福を！」」（マルコによる福音書１１：７－９）
Prophecies about Christ’s Death and Resurrection イエス・キリストの死と復活に関する預言
Betrayed by a Friend 友達に裏切られた
Prophecy: My own familiar friend in whom I trusted has lifted up his heel against me (Psalm 41:9).
預言：「食事を共にした親友さえ、私を裏切りました。」（詩篇４１：９）
Fulfilment: Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Him (Mark 14:10).
成就：「ところで、弟子の一人、イスカリオテのユダは、イエスを売り渡そうと、わざわざ祭司長たちのところに出かけました。」（マルコによる福音書１４：１０）
Sold for 30 pieces of silver 銀30枚のために売られた
Prophecy: They weighed out for my wages thirty pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12)
預言：「彼らが払った賃金は、たった銀貨三十枚〔奴隷の値段〕でした。」（ゼカリヤ書１１：１２）
Fulfilment: And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver (Matthew 26:15)
成就：「こうして、とうとう彼らから銀貨三十枚を受け取ったのです。」 （マタイによる福音書２６：１５）
Silent when accused 訴えられたとき、無言でした
Prophecy: He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth (Isaiah 53:7).
預言：「彼は痛めつけられ、苦しみ、悩みました。 それでも、ただのひと言も口にしませんでした。」（イザヤ書５３：７）
Fulfilment: Pilate asked, “See how many things they testify against You!” But Jesus still answered nothing (Mark 15:4–5).
成就：「どうして何も言わないのか。 あんなにまで訴えているのに、平気なのか」と尋ねました。しかしイエスは、ひと言もお答えになりません。」（マルコによる福音書１５：４－５）
Beaten and spat upon. 殴られ唾を吐かれた。
Prophecy: I gave My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting (Isaiah 50:6).
預言：「私はむち打つ者に背中をさらし、ひげを抜き取る者に顔を差し出しました。 恥さらしになっても、逃げも隠れもしません。 彼らは私の顔につばをはきかけました。」（イザヤ書５０：６）
Fulfilment: Then some began to spit on Him, and the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands (Mark 14:65).
成就：「このあと、ある者たちは、イエスにつばきをかけたり、目隠しして、げんこつで顔をなぐり、」（マルコによる福音書１４：６５）
Crucified with sinners 罪人と共に十字架にかけられた。
Prophecy: He was numbered with the transgressors (Isaiah 53:12).
預言：「彼は罪人の一人に数えられ、」（イザヤ書５３：１２）
Fulfilment: With Him they also crucified two robbers (Mark 15:27).
成就：「その日、二人の強盗も、イエスといっしょに十字架につけられました。 二人の十字架はイエスの両側でした。」（マルコによる福音書１５：２７）
His side pierced 脇腹を刺された
Prophecy: They will look on Me whom they pierced (Zechariah 12:10).
預言：「彼らは、自分たちが突き殺した者を見て、」（ゼカリヤ書１２：１０）
Fulfilment: But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear (John 19:34).
成就：「ところが、兵士の一人が何を思ったのか、いきなり槍でわき腹を突きました。」（ヨハネによる福音書１９：３４）
Buried with the rich 富める者と共に葬られた
Prophecy: He made His grave with the rich at His death (Isaiah 53:9).
預言：「彼は罪人扱いを受け、金持ちの墓に葬られました。」 （イザヤ書５３：９）
Fulfilment: A rich man from Arimathaea, named Joseph, asked for the body of Jesus. Then Joseph laid it in his own new tomb (Matthew 27:57–60).
成就：「イエスの弟子で、アリマタヤ出身のヨセフという金持ちが来て、 58ピラトに、イエスの遺体を引き取りたいと願い出ました。 ピラトは願いを聞き入れ、遺体を渡すように命じました。 59ヨセフは遺体を取り降ろすと、きれいな亜麻布でくるみ、 60岩をくり抜いた、自分の新しい墓に納めました。」 （マタイによる福音書２７：５７－６０）
Rose from the dead 死から復活された
Prophecy: You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption (Psalm 16:10).
預言：「神様は私を死人の中に置き去りにせず、墓の中で朽ち果てるのをお許しにならないからです。」（詩篇１６：１０）
Fulfilment: The angel said to them, “You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen!” (Mark 16:6).
成就：「その御使いがおもむろに口を開きました。「そんなに驚くことはありません。十字架につけられたナザレのイエス様を捜しているのでしょう。あの方はもうここにはおられません。復活されたのです。ごらんなさい。ここがあの方の遺体があった場所です。」（マルコによる福音書１６：６）
Ascended into heaven 天国へ上って行かれた
Prophecy: You have ascended on high (Psalm 68:18).
預言：「高い所へ上って行かれます。」（詩篇６８：１８）
Fulfilment: He was received up into heaven (Mark 16:19).
成就：「こう語り終えると、イエスは、天に上げられ、神の右の座につかれました。」（マルコによる福音書１６：１９）
Exalted at God’s right hand 神様の右の高貴な座につかれた
Prophecy: The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand” (Psalm 110:1).
預言：「神様は、私の救い主にお告げになりました。 「わたしの代理として、右の座について治めてくれ。 わたしは敵を征服し、おまえの前で土下座させよう。」（詩篇１１０：１）
Fulfilment: Jesus Christ has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God (1 Peter 3:22).
成就：「今、キリスト様は天で、神様の次に名誉ある座につき、すべての御使いと天の軍勢を従えておられます。」（ペテロの第一の手紙３：２２）

Halloween ハロウィン
Today is October 31st so it’s Halloween.
今日は10月の３１日ですので、ハロウィンです。

Basically it points out that all over the world many cultures have festivals remembering the dead that are similar to Halloween.
基本的には、世界中の多くの文化圏でハロウィーンに似た、死者を思い出すための祭りがあることを指摘しています。
For example, in Japan there is Obon.
例えば、日本にはお盆があります。
All of these festivals are around this time of year.
これらの祭りはだいたい毎年この時期にあります。
It is possible that the reason for these similarities goes back to the memory of the global Flood where most of the people in the world died apart from Noah and his family.
これらだとうして似ているかというは、世界の人々のほとんどがノアと彼の家族から離れて死んでいった地球規模の洪水の記憶が原因であると言えます。
The Bible puts the date of this flood at about 2500 BC.
聖書によると、この洪水は紀元前２５００年です。
In this Flood only 8 people survived.
この洪水では8人だけが生き残った。
It is interesting to note that the word for ship and the word for Flood both contain the number 8.
洪水（洪）にも船にも両方に8番（八）が含まれていることに注意することは興味深いです。
"Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.
19 So he went and preached to the spirits in prison— 20 those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood." 1 Peter 3:18-20

Some Similarities between Halloween, Obon, and Noah’s Flood (Noah’s Ark).

Sacrifice – Noah sacrificed animals to God after the Flood.

"Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and there he sacrificed as burnt offerings the animals and birds that had been approved for that purpose." Genesis 8:20 (NLT)

Noah would have been happy to be saved but sad to remember the death of so many people.

Lantern festival “boats” and Noah’s Ark 灯篭流しとノアの箱舟です。
Unfortunately nowadays most people don’t believe that Noah’s Flood really happened, but the Bible prophesied about this.
あいにく、最近、殆どの人はノアの大洪水を起こっていた、信じませんが、このことについて聖書はすでに預言していたのです。
“Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. 4 They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” 5 They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. 6 Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood.” 2 Peter 3:3-6

Yoshinogari Site 吉野ケ里遺跡
Yoshinogari is an ancient site in Kyuushuu, Japan.
吉野ケ里遺跡は、日本の九州にある古代の遺跡です。
There is evidence of buildings, as well as artifacts such as mirrors, daggers, coins, and so on.
建物の跡、ならびに鏡、短剣、コインなどのような人工物があります。
But how do we know that the people who made these things actually existed?
しかし、この物を作った人々の存在をどのように知ることができるでしょうか？
We have never seen these people, and we know almost nothing about them.
私達はこの人々に会うことはできないしこの人々について殆ど何も知りません。
How do we know that the buildings and objects didn’t make themselves?
建物や物が自然にできたものではないことを、どのように知ることができるでしょうか？
The fact that the buildings and objects have obviously been made proves that they must have been made by intelligent designers.
建物や物が明らかに作られたものであるという事実は、それらがインテリジェントデザイナーによって作られたということを証明しています。
Likewise, with God’s Creation – the trees, mountains, living creatures etc – we can know that God exists because the amazing design in creation must have had an intelligent Designer.
同様に、木、山、生き物などの神による創造について、その素晴らしいデザインは、インテリジェントデザイナーがいなければなし得ないものであるため、私たちは神が存在することを知ることができます。

Dr Mary Schweitzer made these discoveries a few years ago.

We know that blood and DNA cannot survive for more than a few thousand years.

The obvious conclusion is that the dinosaur bones are only thousands of years old and not millions of years old.

But because the secular scientists are sure that the dinosaur bones are millions of years old they say “Wow, blood can survive in fossils for millions of years!”
しかし、世俗的な科学者達は、恐竜の骨は何百万年も前の物であると確信していますので、「うわー、血が数百万年もの間化石の中で生き残ることができるのか！」と彼らは言っています。
Why is Dr Schweitzer’s discovery “dangerous”?

The reason secular scientists think the discovery is dangerous is because it is evidence that biblical creation is true.
