Epistemology is also known as the "theory of knowledge".

Halloween ハロウィン
Today is October 31st so it’s Halloween.
今日は10月の３１日ですので、ハロウィンです。
I read a very interesting article about Halloween yesterday.
昨日、ハロウィンについてとても興味深い文章を読みました。

Basically it points out that all over the world many cultures have festivals remembering the dead that are similar to Halloween.
基本的には、世界中の多くの文化圏でハロウィーンに似た、死者を思い出すための祭りがあることを指摘しています。
For example, in Japan there is Obon.
例えば、日本にはお盆があります。
All of these festivals are around this time of year.
これらの祭りはだいたい毎年この時期にあります。
It is possible that the reason for these similarities goes back to the memory of the global Flood where most of the people in the world died apart from Noah and his family.
これらだとうして似ているかというは、世界の人々のほとんどがノアと彼の家族から離れて死んでいった地球規模の洪水の記憶が原因であると言えます。
The Bible puts the date of this flood at about 2500 BC.
聖書によると、この洪水は紀元前２５００年です。
In this Flood only 8 people survived.
この洪水では8人だけが生き残った。
It is interesting to note that the word for ship and the word for Flood both contain the number 8.
洪水（洪）にも船にも両方に8番（八）が含まれていることに注意することは興味深いです。
"Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.
19 So he went and preached to the spirits in prison— 20 those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood." 1 Peter 3:18-20

Some Similarities between Halloween, Obon, and Noah’s Flood (Noah’s Ark).
ハロウィン、お盆、ノアの大洪水 （ノアの箱舟）にはいくつかの類似点があります。
Remembering the dead 死んだの人を思い出すこと。
Sacrifice – Noah sacrificed animals to God after the Flood.
生贄（いけにえ）：ノアは大洪水の後、動物を生贄にしました。
"Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and there he sacrificed as burnt offerings the animals and birds that had been approved for that purpose." Genesis 8:20 (NLT)
「ノアはそこに祭壇を築き、神様から特別に指定された動物や鳥を、いけにえとしてささげました。」 創世記８：２０
Noah would have been happy to be saved but sad to remember the death of so many people.
ノアが救われたことで幸せですが、多くの人々死んだが悲しかったことと思います。
Obon sacrifices are offerings (such as fruit). お盆の生贄は供物です。（例えば、果物）。
Lantern festival “boats” and Noah’s Ark 灯篭流しとノアの箱舟です。
Unfortunately nowadays most people don’t believe that Noah’s Flood really happened, but the Bible prophesied about this.
あいにく、最近、殆どの人はノアの大洪水を起こっていた、信じませんが、このことについて聖書はすでに預言していたのです。
“Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. 4 They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” 5 They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. 6 Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood.” 2 Peter 3:3-6

Harry Potter ハリー・ポッター
Harry Potter is a very popular movie.
ハリー・ポッターはとても人気な映画です。
"Japan's All Time Top Grossing Films" list puts "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" at number 3.
「日本の最高興行収入映画の一覧 」で「ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石」 は３番目です。
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the 13th most popular movie in Japan.
「ハリー・ポッターとアズカバンの囚人」日本で１３番目に人気の映画です。
As a Christian I have mixed feelings about this movie series.
クリスチャンとしてこのシーリズ物に複雑な思いがあります。
The movies are interesting, entertaining, and we see love, loyalty, friendship, courage etc.
映画は面白いや楽しい、そして愛や、忠義や、友好や、優力などがわかります。
The world of dragons and other creatures is very interesting too.
ドラゴンの世界や他の動物の世界はとても興味深いです。
In relation to that I found that a new dinosaur has been found called Dracorex Hogwartsia. It is called this because it looks like a dragon.
それの関係は新いの恐竜いうドレコレックス・ホグワーツィアが見つけました。この名前の由来はドラゴンのように見えるからです。http://prehistoricplanet.com/features/dracorex/
However, I don't like the magic and sorcery in the movie.
しかし、映画の魔法と魔道は好きではありません。
The Bible says that all witchcraft is dangerous and evil.
聖書では全ての魔法は危険で邪悪だと言っています。
Deuteronomy. 18:10-14, “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12“For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out before you. 13“You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. 14“For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners, but as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so."
申命記１８：１０－１４ 「自分の子供を異教の神々へのいけにえとして焼き殺すような者は、死刑です。 そのほか、魔術師、占い師、まじない師、蛇使い、霊媒師、魔法使い、口寄せも赦されません。 12こんなことをする者は、神様にきらわれ愛想をつかされます。 ほかの国が滅ぼされるのもそのためです。 13だからあなたがたは、神様に非難されないように歩みなさい。 14これから追い払う国々はみな、このような悪いことを行ないますが、絶対にまねをしてはいけません。」
Also, there is no God in the world of Harry Potter.

Although it doesn't mention evolution it assumes that we evolved over millions of years without God.
進化論までには言及されていませんが、私たちが数百万年間を通して、神様なしで進化してきたと決めつけている作品なのです。
ハリー・ポッターはとても人気な映画です。

Higgs Boson ヒッグス粒子
Today Higgs Boson, the so called "God particle" was in the news.
今日、「神の粒子」と呼ばれるヒッグス粒子がニュースになりました。
Physicists Dr Higgs and Dr Englert have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for helping discover it.
物理学者のヒッグス博士とアングレール博士はヒッグス粒子の発見に一役買いノーベル物理学賞を受賞しました。
The news story showed a choir singing, "Higgs, Higgs, glorious Higgs."
こちらのニュースでは聖歌隊が、「ヒッグス、ヒッグス、グロリアスヒッグス」と歌っているところが流れました。
It is good to understand more of God's universe, but this discovery does not mean that God has been replaced.
神様の宇宙をより理解するには良いですが、この発見は神に取って変わったことを意味するものではありません。
It also doesn't mean that the Big Bang has been proven.
またビッグバンを証明するものでもありません。
The Bible says that all things in the universe are held together by Jesus Christ.
聖書は宇宙の全ての物はエイス・キリスト様と共にあるとしています。
Colossians 1:16-17 "For through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see--such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together."

I feel disconnected from Japan.

I feel like Japan is changing.
日本は変化していると思う
Everyday you see all these little half Japanese children running around.
ハーフの子どもは珍しい存在ではなくなりました。
I discovered that there were many people that had similar backgrounds.
自分と同じような背景の人が実はいっぱいいるんだって気づいて、出会いたいなと思った。
He realised that he didn't have to try to become someone that everybody else expects him to be.
彼は誰かに言われた通りの自分になる必要はないと分かったようです。
There’s prejudice and racism wherever you go.
どこにいても偏見や差別はあるし、
I want to connect with people who can see me for me.
人間としてちゃんと人を見れる人間と繋がっていけばいいんだと思った。
Instead of disliking what’s different if we embrace and learn from it then Japan will have such a bright future.
違うことを嫌うのではなく、受け入れて学んでいくことによって、日本の未来が凄い明るくなるんじゃないかなって思います。
Japan is changing.
日本は多様化している

I stuck out where ever I was and people treated me differently. I thought, just treat me normally.

すぐそこの隣のやつに話しかけているみたいに、俺にも話しかけてくれよって思うわけ。
I really believed I was Japanese.
自分が日本人って信じきっていたから
So suddenly I felt like I didn’t belong anywhere.
居場所がなくなった感じ。
When you’re young you don’t want to be different. You want to be like everyone else.
もんなと同じになりたかった。
I feel disconnected from Japan.
日本自体にあまりつながっている気がしていなかった。
Each year over 20,000 half-Japanese babies are born.
毎年生まれるハーフの子供達は２万以上。
I feel like Japan is changing.
日本は変化していると思う
Everyday you see all these little half Japanese children running around.
ハーフの子どもは珍しい存在ではなくなりました。
I discovered that there were many people that had similar backgrounds.
自分と同じような背景の人が実はいっぱいいるんだって気づいて、出会いたいなと思った。
He realised that he didn't have to try to become someone that everybody else expects him to be.
彼は誰かに言われた通りの自分になる必要はないと分かったようです。
There’s prejudice and racism wherever you go.
どこにいても偏見や差別はあるし、
I want to connect with people who can see me for me.
人間としてちゃんと人を見れる人間と繋がっていけばいいんだと思った。
Instead of disliking what’s different if we embrace and learn from it then Japan will have such a bright future.
違うことを嫌うのではなく、受け入れて学んでいくことによって、日本の未来が凄い明るくなるんじゃないかなって思います。

Huge Alligator 巨大なワニ（アリゲーター）

The alligator weighs 741.5 pounds (336 kg) and is about 4 metres long, and was caught a few days ago on the Mississippi River in the USA.
アリゲーターは重量７４１パウンド（３３６キロ）で、体長は約４メートルです。２、３日前にUSAのミシシッピ川が釣りました。
It is like looking at a dinosaur.

Some people think that alligators evolved millions of years ago and that people are related to animals, so we should never kill animals.

But why do people believe in evolution?

To those who believe in millions of years of history - Were you there?

As God said to Job: “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth”? (Job 38:4a)
神様はヨブに：「わたしが地の基を定めたとき、あなたはどこにいたのか。 」と言いました。（ヨブ記３８：４a）
Of course no one was there ‘millions of years ago’, but God was there, and he told us about the beginnings in the Bible.
もちろん、誰も「何百万年前」にはいませんでしたが、神様はいました。そして、聖書において神様は始原について私達に伝えています。

– Get what you need – Get the words and phrases you need

E – Evaluate – Check that you are using the words and phrases correctly
