Harry Potter ハリー・ポッター

Harry Potter is a very popular movie.
ハリー・ポッターはとても人気な映画です。

"Japan's All Time Top Grossing Films" list puts "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" at number 3.
「日本の最高興行収入映画の一覧 」で「ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石」 は３番目です。

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the 13th most popular movie in Japan.
「ハリー・ポッターとアズカバンの囚人」日本で１３番目に人気の映画です。

As a Christian I have mixed feelings about this movie series.
クリスチャンとしてこのシーリズ物に複雑な思いがあります。

The movies are interesting, entertaining, and we see love, loyalty, friendship, courage etc.
映画は面白いや楽しい、そして愛や、忠義や、友好や、優力などがわかります。

The world of dragons and other creatures is very interesting too.
ドラゴンの世界や他の動物の世界はとても興味深いです。

In relation to that I found that a new dinosaur has been found called Dracorex Hogwartsia. It is called this because it looks like a dragon.
それの関係は新いの恐竜いうドレコレックス・ホグワーツィアが見つけました。この名前の由来はドラゴンのように見えるからです。http://prehistoricplanet.com/features/dracorex/

However, I don't like the magic and sorcery in the movie.
しかし、映画の魔法と魔道は好きではありません。

The Bible says that all witchcraft is dangerous and evil.
聖書では全ての魔法は危険で邪悪だと言っています。

Deuteronomy. 18:10-14, “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12“For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out before you. 13“You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. 14“For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners,  but as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so."

Also, there is no God in the world of Harry Potter.
また、ハリーポッターの世界には神様が存在していません。

Although it doesn't mention evolution it assumes that we evolved over millions of years without God.
進化論までには言及されていませんが、私たちが数百万年間を通して、神様なしで進化してきたと決めつけている作品なのです。

Dragon Well 竜の泉

I found this interesting Bible verse about "the dragon well" in Jerusalem.
エルサレムにあるという「竜の泉」に関する興味深い聖書の一節を見つけました。


"And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire." Nehemiah 2:13

「谷の門を通り、竜の泉に向かい、糞の門まで行き、くずれた城壁、焼け落ちた門を調べました。」ネヘミヤ記２：１３（JLB）

The Hebrew word for dragon here is "tannin". Many modern Bible's translate tannin as "jackal" instead of Dragon.
ドラゴンのヘブライ語では"tannin"です。多くの聖書はこの単語を「ドラゴン」（竜）ではなくて「ジャッカル」と訳します。


I believe that the reason for this is because modern translators think that dragons were not real animals.
なぜなら多くの現代の翻訳者は竜が本当の動物ではないと思っているからです。

However, there are many connections between dragons and dinosaurs.
しかし、ドラゴンと恐竜には沢山の繋がりがあります。

For example, the dinosaur Dracorex Hogwartsia looks very much like a dragon.
例えば、ドレコレックス・ホグワーツィアという恐竜はドラゴンととても似ています。

In Japan there are some dragon fountains, but are there any dragon wells?

I found that there is a Dragon hot spring in Yokohama. (Ryusenji no yu)
