Swear Words 失礼な言葉

Sometimes I see non-native English speakers using swear words.
時々、ノンネイティブが失礼な言葉を使っているのを見かけます。

I wonder if they know how bad these words are, or if they just think it's cool.
彼らはこれらの言葉がどのように悪いか知っているのだろうか、また彼らは単にそれらの言葉をかっこいいと思っているのではないだろうか。

In English the F word is an extremely rude word.
英語でF***の単語は非常に失礼な言葉です。

Please don't use it.
使わないで下さい。
Many Christians (and many non-christians too) find the F word offensive.
多くのクリスチャンは　（そして、多くのノンークリスチャンも）「F word」を不快に思います。

Just because you hear bad words in Hollywood movies doesn't mean that they are generally acceptable words.

Many Christians also don't like it when people use God's name carelessly.

For example, many people say 'Oh my God', or 'Jesus!' when they are surprised or angry instead of using the F word.
たとえば、多くの人々は、びっくりしたときや怒るとき、「Oh my God」か「Jesus」言います。これはF wordの代わりに使っているのです。

It's better to say 'Oh my gosh', or 'No way!' or something if you are surprised.
もし、あなたがびっくりしたときは、「Oh my gosh」か「No way!」のほうがいいです。

Another swear word in English is 'sh*t'. It's best to avoid it, although it's not nearly as strong as the F word.
他の英語の失礼な言葉は「sh*t」です。F Wordと同じくらい強くないですが使わないのほうがいいです。

We celebrate Christmas which comes from the words 'Christ' and 'mass.' (A Catholic church service).

How to learn another language どうやって外国語を学ぶ方法

You have to use GLUE!  – GLUE（接着剤）を使わなければなりません。

G – Get what you need – Get the words and phrases you need
L – Learn it well – Learn the words and phrases correctly
U – Use it a lot – Practice as much as you can and use the words and phrases again and again.
E – Evaluate – Check that you are using the words and phrases correctly

G： 必要なものをゲットする。単語とフレーズをゲットします。

L：しっかり身に付ける。単語とフレーズをしっかり身に付けます。
U：たくさん使う。できるだけたくさんの練習をして、単語とフレーズを何度も使います。
E：評価する。単語とフレーズを正確に使っているか、チェックします。

Use it or lose it! This means – use it, otherwise you will forget it. And remember - as they say in Japanese - persistence is power. Never give up! 

使わなければ、失いますよ！この意味は、使いなさい。さもないと、忘れますよ。
そして、日本語のフレーズ「継続は力なり」を思い出して下さい。辞めたらだめよ！

Language learning is like climbing Mt Fuji - you do it one step at a time! Keep climbing and eventually you will reach the top of Mt. Fluency!

2 Most Common Mistakes 二つのよくするの間違い

The two most common mistakes that Japanese make when using English are…

日本人がの英語を使う時二つのよくするの間違いは 。。。

1.      Forgetting plurals　複数形を忘れる。

2.      Mistakes to do with a, an and the　－ ‘a’と ‘an’そして ‘the’の間違い

So I decided to write some things that can help you with this. You may have already been taught about these things but it’s easy to forget and get confused.

皆さんの参考になるよう、いくつかポイントを書いています。おそらく教えられたと思いますが、忘れたり、間違えたりしやすいと思います。

First you need to understand that there are different kinds of nouns.

まず、名詞にはいくつかの種類がある、ということを理解する必要があります。

-Proper nouns – these always have a capital letter, and they never take a, an or the. For example Brendan, Jusco, Japan. Be careful though – there are several exceptions such as the USA and the UK.

固有名詞：いつも大文字で始まり、aやan、theを付けることはありません。例えば、Brendan、Jusco、Japanなどがあります。しかし、例外もあるので、気を付けてください。例えば、The USA、とThe UKです。

Normal nouns – most of which are countable, but some are non-countable. A few examples of non-countable nouns are liquids such as milk and orange juice. Rice and flour is also non-countable.

普通名詞：ほとんどが可算名詞ですが、不可算名詞もあります。

不可算名詞の例としては、液体があります。例えば、牛乳、オレンジ・ジュースなどです。米や小麦粉も不可算名詞です。

1.      Plurals. If a word is a countable noun and there is more than 1 then put s at the end

For example: There are 2 dogs.

If the word is a countable noun and you are speaking generally then put s at the end

E.g. I like dogs.

複数形：単語が可算名詞で、数が１より多い場合、最後にｓを付けます。

例えば、There are 2 dogs.（二匹の犬がいます。）

単語が可算名詞で、一般的な話をする場合は、ｓを付けます。

例えば、I like dogs.（犬が好きです。）

2.      A, an, and the 

For countable nouns the first time you mention something use a or an (an is for words starting with the vowels a,e,i,o,u,(but not words like university as the u here is a yu sound and y is not a vowel).

可算名詞を文章で最初に使うときには、a か an を付けます。（母音（a e i o u）で始まる単語には an を使いますが、university のUはYの音なので母音ではありません。）（A  Universityが正しいです。An Universityは間違いです。）

For example: I saw a bear. I saw a big bear.

例えば、僕は熊を見ました。大きな熊が見ました。

For countable and uncountable nouns the second time and thereafter that you mention something use ‘the’.

同じ可算名詞と不可算名詞が二回目以降話題に出す時はtheを使います。

For example: I saw a bear… The bear was big. 

I ate some rice… The rice was good.

例えば、僕は熊を見ました。。。その熊は大きかったです。

御飯を食べました。。。その御飯は美味しかったです。

These are the main rules, but there are also exceptions to the rules that you need to learn. The most important thing is to keep practicing and not give up. 

これは主なルールですが、例外もあるので勉強する必要があります。

一番大切なことは練習を続け、辞めないことです。
