God wannabe

See why I don't believe God is real?
I wouldn't have created that!
Or that! And I wouldn't have let that happen!
Or that! Or that...
Using this way of thinking, Rich could also argue against the existence of painters, architects, builders, his own
parents...

Genesis 3

Psalm 14:1 "The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."

  1. So why does your god create storms and lets human track them, lets humans warm other humans, and with advancing technology, we'll be able to guide your god's created storms out to sea and let them dissipate harmlessly out there, completely contradicting your god's omnipotent and omniscience?

    1. Hi Angela. Thanks for taking the time to comment. You've committed the logical fallacy of 'complex question' also known as 'loaded question' where a number of questions are joined together illegitimately. You're assuming that if in the future we are able to prevent natural disasters that will mean that God is not all powerful - but this does not logically follow. You're also forgetting or not realising that we live in a fallen creation as a result of mankind's sin and rebellion (Genesis 3) against God - a rebellion that continues to this day when we choose to go our own way and hide from God. I wrote more about suffering here http://www.101arguments.com/2013/07/the-argument-from-suffering.html

  2. Weird how gawd unleashes his wrath because of gay rights advocacy and atheists wanting separation of church and state by unleashing earthquakes on people who live in earthquake prone Continental Plate boundaries. and hurricanes during hurricane season. As an atheist myself I do not believe a malevolent sky wizard to be the source of such natural phenomena, as I have yet to seen any evidence which would allay my doubts. What is shameful beyond belief is that so many christian's push this 'A' therefore 'B' on those who are ignorant of natural phenomena...Shame on you all, Your numbers are dwindling daily and you know it. Your children are tired of your abuse and many will find alternatives to your cosmology other than the ones being forced down their throats. Your very existence as ignorant god slaves will create more agnostics and atheists then all the Dawkins and Hitchens put together. The kids see more than you realize, and many of them know a con when they see it, and are becoming educated enough to be able to read the writing on the wall. The days where human beings substitute reality for superstition and mythology are drawing to a close, and the planets religions will fade into a well deserved obscurity, existing only as a historical footnote. To that I say good riddance and welcome to the 21st. century.

  3. Hi Rob. Thanks for your comment. In the future I'd appreciate if you didn't misuse God's name on my blog by typing it properly. The 3rd commandment says you shall not misuse God's name. It is only because of God's patience and kindness that you are able to misuse his name and attempt to deny his existence. I do not believe that natural disasters are necessarily God's judgment. They are part of living in a fallen world - a world that was originally perfect but fell from it's perfection as a result of Adam and Eve's rebellion against God. As for our numbers dwindling my understanding is that worldwide the number of christians is growing, and it is only in the west that liberal christianity is in decline - which is not really true Christianity anyway. As for the false accusation of child abuse - I'm glad that you are concerned about the welfare of children - but by what moral standard do you judge anything as being right or wrong? Isn't it just your own arbitrary opinion? As for superstition - I agree that the superstitious beliefs related to evolution and the big bang will not last. People like you have been saying for thousands of years that Christianity wouldn't last - but here we are 2000 years since Jesus and Christianity has become the largest religion in the world and increasing every day.
