San-ai = Trinity Love
I took this photo in Hokkaido of the sign on the rock. The sign says " Panorama no michi, San-ai no oka, Biei machi." (Panoramic route, 3-love hill, Biei town)
I don't know the origins of the name but I believe there is a connection with the Trinity - God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit, and the love that they have for us.
Welcome to my Japanese/English blog about Jesus, purpose, life, and other random stuff.

Mysterious 3-legged Torii
At the shrine of Kaiko no Yashiro in Kyoto Amenominakanushi is worshipped. Under the torii is a spring and next to it is a cleansing pool similar to a baptism pool. Could the 3 legs be a symbol of the trinity? Was this shrine once used by Nestorian Christians? There is evidence to suggest that this is the case. For more information about this and other amazing things within Japanese culture see the video - God's Fingerprints in Japan.
